My Life As Camping Accessories

Since I’ve been trying to stay out of stores for the most part, I haven’t seen much of the recent My Life As sets.  However, a friend nicely gifted me several of them for Christmas (THANK YOU AGAIN!) and this one is really one of the cutest MLA sets I think I’ve ever seen.  She said since I had the surf van and the camper, she thought I needed this.  I did!

My Life As sets are really a good deal for the price, most of these carded sets run right around $8 and if you are lucky enough to find them on clearance, you might get them even cheaper.

First off, a nice selection of cooing utensils.  The only thing that I couldn’t figure out is why no silverware?  I guess we’re eating with our fingers, and we only have one set.  They’ve been to the AG school of marketing… 😂😂😂

The little cookstove is very well done, just like a real one, it all folds up neatly.

When you open it up, you can see all the details!  I love the legs underneath that unfold and the side “wings” to prevent the wind from blowing your flame out.  I am wondering why they didn’t include a little faux bottle of fuel, but that will be easy enough to make, I just have to remember to save a used lip balm container!

Typical camp food!

I like that the bacon, eggs and pancake all fit on the griddle.

My favorite part of the whole set is the carton of eggs, this alone would cost $8 from AG!

But these eggs are special…they actually come apart!!!

Isn’t that clever?  They are a bit of a nightmare to re-assemble though.  Here it looks like someone was either making a quiche or an omelet, doesn’t it?

Very cute set that I highly recommend for anyone who loves camping and camping equipment for their dolls! Just remember to bring some additional silverware.

Review of My Life As School Set

It’s that time of year again–back to school.  Depending on where you live, that could mean any number of things!  BUT, no matter what, if you are actually physically going to school or doing it virtually, you still need school supplies!!

This set really caught my attention because it had some really cool pieces in it.  And at just under $8, I definitely had to have it.

On the back of the package is a picture of the more recent My Life As desk too.

The set has a nice little storage box in it.

You also get a very nice assortment of writing utensils! I like that two of the items have loops on them so you can make it look like your doll is holding them.

A ruler and a good pair of scissors are essential for any school supply assortment.  The scissors are hinged as well.

Nourishment is necessary for good concentration!  A banana and a water bottle that will easily fit in any doll sized backpack.

A notebook, some stickers and a fidget spinner.  The fidget spinner actually works!!!  (I’ve never quite understood the appeal of a fidget spinner, but I have to admit this is pretty darned cute!)

A laptop.  The MLA laptops don’t have the same level of detail as American Girl or Our Generation, but still cute.

And my favorite pieces of the whole set–a tape dispenser and a stapler!!

The box holds a lot too.  Even a banana.

I give this set an A+ because it’s well done and how can you go wrong with the price?  I’m starting to get a little excited to see what My Life As comes out with this year for their holiday offerings.  This should be interesting since everything has been so messed up, I wonder how supply lines have been affected for toy companies?

Another new Etsy shop review! SewLikeBetty

I’m always on the look out for new Etsy shops to support and doll clothing…well, it is a bit of a problem for me as I tend to buy as much of it as I do clothing for myself. 😉   I don’t even remember what I was looking for when I came across this shop, but I thought the items looked well made and the prices were reasonable, so I decided to give it a shot.  Since it was a “free shipping with $35 purchase” deal, I selected three items that I had in my favorites.  A cute pair of bib overalls with a shirt and two dresses.

I have numerous pairs of bib overalls in my doll collection, I personally love them myself.  However, they are a pain in the neck when it comes time to use the bathroom so I’ve quit bothering with them for me to wear.  Instead I overindulge my love of them with my doll collection!  This set caught my attention immediately and once I put them on Wendy, I was even more impressed.  Well made, heck, she even lined the pockets with contrasting fabric!  The white shirt came with them too.  The attention to detail on these is fantastic.

This dress is just too cute, I think it’s the perfect spring/summer style and colors!

The piping trim on this is very well done.  I know I wouldn’t have the patience!!

The back closes with Velcro, it’s the type that isn’t quite so sticky.  I wish everyone would go to using this, including the big name doll clothing companies! It’s so much easier to work with and closes every bit as well.

And last, but not least, the dress that caught my attention and made me look at this shop even closer!

This is such a cute dress…and these sleeves, oh my word!!  As someone who sews, let me just tell you, a sleeve like this is not an easy thing to do on a human sized garment, but to do it in miniature, wow!  My hat is off to her, I’m impressed.

Some more views:

To say I was pleased with my purchase is putting it mildly.  All of the items I bought were well made, finished on the inside so they would withstand many changes of clothing.  Prices ranged from $14 to $25 for the items I purchased which I thought was very reasonable, especially given the quality.  Lightning fast shipping as well, although it might take a little longer right now given the circumstances.  I would definitely buy from this Etsy seller again!!

If you’d like to check this store out, here you go!

After we were done with the photo shoot, I told the girls they could have a snack from the bakery cart…
