Cheerleader Outfit from If Dolls Could Dream

One of the very first shops I ever bought 18 inch doll clothes from on Etsy was If Dolls Could Dream.  Here we are, 5 years later, and I’m still buying–and Maggie still does fantastic work!  Something I had looked at several times but hadn’t bought yet was one of her cheerleading outfits.  Finally I decided I wanted one, but thought I’d see about having it personalize so it reflected the school I went to.

Maggie was great to work with, we sent several emails back and forth to determine which font was the best to replicate the letter for the front of the dress.  After looking them over and letting her know which one I wanted, it took her no time at all to get it made and in the mail for me!

I used a pair of American Girl tennis shoes that came with a volleyball outfit from several years ago with it.  Doesn’t Louisa look cute?

A view of the back:

The material is a lightweight knit with a nice shine to it.  It’s perfect for this type of outfit, it drapes nicely.  The pompoms in coordinating colors (in this case, black and red) were included.

Here’s a closeup of the front of the dress so you can see the letter better:

I think it turned out great!  When it came to choosing the colors, I could pick which color I wanted dominant as well.  Maggie has a wide variety of color choices already available, and you can get it without lettering if you don’t want it to be for a specific team or school.  Be sure to check out her Etsy store, she has so many cute items and is still one of my favorite sellers!  Goooooo MAGGIE!

    • I realized afterwards that if I wanted to make it more relative to when I was in school, she should have on saddle shoes. I may have to pull out the ones from Maryellen’s Poodle Skirt set!

  1. Thank you, Flo. Louisa looks great. I can’t believe it has been 5 years since we met through Etsy. My husband gives me an anniversary card every year on the day in September that I opened my shop. He calls it my “Etsy anniversary “.

    • Times flies for sure! That corduroy barn jacket is still one of my favorite of all of my doll clothes items. That’s cool that your husband does that!
