New Years Eve…2019 is almost over

Hey everybody, Mimi here! Can you believe that 2019 is about to end?  That means the end of the decade too!  WOW!  Hard to believe we are about to start the third decade of the 2000’s.  Mom told me about when 1999 came to an end and explained to me all about Y2K (which didn’t turn out to be much of anything).  She had a New Years Eve party at her house with some friends, one who was there all the way from Nepal!

Did everyone have a nice Christmas?  We did, we had a fun dinner with some family.  I got some really cool presents too, some from Santa, some from mom and dad, and some from friends.  My friends really seem to know me well.  Would you like to see what I got?  Okay!

I got something I had asked about but certainly didn’t expect–a drone!  I’m not very good at flying it yet.  (Neither am I…~Flo).  Everyone tells us it takes a bit of time to get the hang of it though.  It’s pretty cool though when I do get it into the air.  I just seem to keep crashing into things though, ugh.  I’m starting to feel a bit like Charlie Brown and his kite.  Santa may need to send me some replacement blades really soon at this rate…

Speaking of Christmas gifts, do you like this shirt I’m wearing?  It was a gift from the gang over at Tea Time With Melody Q!  Mom said it would go great with my eyes, and I have to say, I think she’s right.

They also sent this lovely vase, I think it’s so pretty.  I need some flowers for in it.  There were a few other things too, some for mom.  Thank you so much guys!

I sent some gifts out their way too.  I wasn’t sure what to get them, so mom told me to go check out our favorite Etsy store, If Dolls Could Dream to see if I could find anything I liked.  As I was looking, I found the perfect thing for my friend Mel!!  I knew she’d like it the minute I saw it, she loves llamas.  Only problem was, once I saw it out of the package, I was wishing I’d ordered one for myself.  Little did I know, mom ordered me a set too.  So now Mel and I have matching PJ’s!  How cool is that?

New bedroom slippers to go with the new PJ’s too!

I also got this cool Instax camera from Santa Claus.  I love taking pictures, and some of my friends have these, I love having the photos pop out instantly!

My big present was super special this year…

Yes, another dog!  Meet Laney.  I still have Ginger too, so now we have two dogs at our house.  Laney is a Shetland Sheepdog, or Sheltie for short.  Ginger and Laney get along really well too, so that is a big relief.

UH…GUYS!

This is my bed, you can’t sleep up there…

How about I pull the trundle out for you?

There, that’s better.  I suppose if it gets too difficult, I could always sleep on the trundle…

So…from me, Laney, Ginger and everyone at Say Hello To My Little Friends–Happy New Year!!!

So, just a quick moment to add a few things from me, Flo.  Thank you soooooo so much to Xyra from over at Tea Time with Melody Q.  Not only did she send us the lovely shirt and the vase–but the dog that is now Laney was from her as well.  Always cool when one of your doll friends finds the absolute perfect gift, opening this Christmas morning totally made my day.  I’ve been in search of a Sheltie that was doll sized for a while.  This particular one is from The Queens Treasures and is listed as a Collie puppy, but it makes an absolute perfect Sheltie.  Even funnier is the fact that a few days before Christmas, I saw it on the website and thought “I need to order that at some point.”

The little Instax camera is from American Girl, part of their most recent birthday party set.  I’m always a sucker for something having to do with photography.  😉

I hope everyone had a fantastic Christmas/Holiday season.  It was a busy one for me with a lot of irons in the fire, and some new ones of course that I’m super excited about.  The blog still keeps chugging along, and I have a TON of reviews to do, I got a little bit carried away with some of the sales over the Christmas season.  But hey, the hubby got a new car, so what’s a gal to do but a little doll splurging?! I can’t wait to show you some of the cool things I picked up, one thing that’s very special for sure.  Any ideas???  (Shhhh Xyra, no telling!!)

Going in to 2020, we have a new Girl Of The Year coming out.  And hopefully some exciting new releases!  We will have plenty to talk about after the first of the year I’m sure, and I’m looking forward to another year of sharing doll adventures with you.  We’ve lost a lot of really good blogs and bloggers over the past couple of years, but I’m hoping to keep doing this for a while longer.

Without further ado–

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

(insert confetti here… 😉  )

Cookie Time!

One of my favorite things about Christmas break is getting to spend time with my friends.  The Saturday before Christmas I invited Louisa, Alya and Rebecca over so we could hang out.  And bake some holiday cookies!  Rebecca is a fantastic baker, so I was anxious to hear about her recipes and tips for perfect cookies.

We were all dressed for the holiday–and to keep warm!

Before we started baking, we hung out in my room for a bit.  Louisa was showing us something she found on the internet.

While Rebecca played with Ginger.

Then it was off to the Mi-Shed for some baking fun!

Louisa was a little bit creeped out by Norbert (that’s what we named the deer head).  “Back off!”

Rebecca explained how to roll out the dough.  Once we got the first batch done, she kept on going…

while Alya decorated them!

It was a really fun day, we made a bunch of different types of cookies, they were all yummy.

What kinds of things do you do with friends and family over the holiday season?  Any special traditions?  I am hoping that we can make cookie baking with friends an annual get together!

Merry Christmas!

Just wanted to wish all of my readers a Merry Christmas!  (Or happy Chanukah, happy Kwanzaa, or any other holiday you might celebrate at this time of year!)

As it’s tradition…it wouldn’t be Christmas here at the blog without the Minions!  Enjoy, and I hope you’ve all had a wonderful holiday!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
