Fourth of July has long been one of my favorite holidays. Nice weather (usually), good food and fireworks, it just doesn’t get any better than that. We’re down to four of the girls here at the moment, Louisa went camping with her dad and Sophia is in New York City taking care of some paperwork related to her school transfer. The rest of the girls didn’t let that stop them from getting in the holiday spirit!
Cassandra and Marie Grace are heading to a parade downtown. Then they are going to have a picnic outdoors with all the fixins: hot dogs, hamburgers, baked beans, and watermelon for dessert! And of course watch fireworks.
Alya and Rebecca are both members of the history club at school and this year the club is doing a presentation at the park for the holiday. It’s a play on Betsy Ross and the history of the flag. Both Alya and Rebecca are doing parts of the narration. They were both a little bit nervous, but I told them they would be fine.
I hope everyone is having a great holiday. One of my favorite things about the 4th is fireworks and I love photographing them. In the spirit of the day, here’s a picture:
And in case you don’t get to go see any fireworks, here’s a short video I uploaded to YouTube that you can enjoy. Please excuse the fact that it is sideways, when I shot this, I had no intention of sharing it, I intended it only for personal use. Ooops!!! It’s still fun to watch though.
Happy 4th of July!!!
